Rainy

We're having a lot of rain these days, which is awesome. Rain was such a rarity growing up that I still remember getting super excited for a storm, and going out with an umbrella and a cup to catch some rain in it.

My kids aren't much different. The other day, it had just stopped raining and Luke decided to venture outside wearing nothing but his rain boots and underwear, which were MATCHING. It was so dang cute I had to take some pictures, but he was shy at first.

Luke and "Mr. Fishie", which he won at Lagoon a couple months ago. Groan. Those things are still kicking around even though they are huge and ugly. Madelyn has a blue one she named "Martin Freeman".

He will drink from any random puddle of water he finds.

Oh look! More water puddled on his swing!

 Thankfully, he spit it out.

On to his buckets of water and squirty toy.

He squirts the window and then licks it. He does this ALL THE TIME. I am constantly cleaning the windows.

On Saturday, we had a huge downpour, and to stop the kids from fighting, we sent them out in it and they immediately got soaking wet. (Which they loved.)

They took a walk around the block, and by the time they came back in, Luke was soaked up to his thighs, and when I pulled his boots off, they went, "SLOOORRPP" and a cup of water poured out of each of them. And then he tried to lick up some water from the puddle on the floor.

It's amazing he doesn't contract more waterborne diseases, really.

Last night, Luke came to me and said he needed his "hero". And then lo and behold, he wanted to wear his superhero cape he'd gotten for Christmas and had always refused to wear.

(Notice the destroyed couch cushions all over the floor.) Rainy days watching Avatar: The Last Airbender are always the best!
