What's really been going on over here

So here's the state of things. Mark had all last week off of work so he could work on some projects. We got back from Bryce Canyon on Monday evening, unpacked, did four loads of laundry, and then hunkered down for the Blitz.

Mark painted

Mark built

Mark moved mountains

Mark cut out patterns and fabric

I helped Madelyn make Halloween cards

I sewed this costume

I started sewing another costume (for Mark--and it's a doozy). I painted baseboards. I went to Pilates and a stake RS training meeting. I schlepped the kids on errands and to gymnastics. I did a few hours of church work. I paid bills. I cooked and got take-out. I blogged. I ran out of time to finish said baseboards before the carpet came.

.
The carpet came!!!!

I took the kids to St. George for a birthday party

We survived Sunday (barely). More meetings. More sewing. Luke fell and bit through his bottom lip and later decided to smush his cookie onto the rug instead of eat it.

Yesterday I had my visiting teachers over, and I did some grocery shopping, three loads of laundry and regular mom stuff. Today I went visiting teaching, and now have to finish Mark's costume, carve pumpkins and get ready for Halloween tomorrow. (Tomorrow?!??!!)

Grand tour of the house...just keeping it real...(although it looks worse today)

Pile of curtains and dust ruffles to iron, costume pieces to be sewn together, dishes, and 5 baskets of dirty clothes.

The tidiest room in the house because I had visiting teachers over. Blocks and cars on the floor, our jar opener (?), Halloween costume, misc. papers, books shoved into the wrong bookshelf.

Bins of stuff that go under the bed, 100 misc. things to be put away, unmade bed.

Furniture out of place, no bed frame, toys and books and clothes all over creation

Mix of Luke and Madelyn's toys--stuff that goes in closets--general booby trapped atmosphere.

As you can see, we haven't put back everything that we had to move for the carpet (seeing as that was only 3 days ago...). But before I put the kids bedrooms back together I need to paint the baseboards in their rooms, and the baseboards in the kitchen, and all of the doors in the whole house, and Madelyn's new bed needs to be painted before it can go in her room, and I'm repainting the master bathroom, and I need to touch up paint in ALL the rooms, and I have some more stuff to sew for this weekend, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention I need to switch out the kids' clothes for the fall/winter season and box up their outgrown stuff.

OH

And we are having to apply for a renewal of Mark's NHSC contract, which is due in two weeks, and has so far been a bureaucratic nightmare and we can't get all the forms we need.

So that's what's up, and that's why I had a nervous breakdown last Friday night, and I am very behind on everything. If I don't blog again for a while, that's why. Or maybe I will be so anxious to escape my workload that I will blog a lot. We'll see!

Happy Halloween tomorrow! At least I have a ton of chocolate in my house right now!

Way to keep it real! Trust me it makes us allll feel better for being up to our eyeballs in stuff. The carpet looks nice- I like the darker color! And Ava LOVES her costume, she wore it all day Sunday and can't wait to wear it all day tomorrow. My candy stash is the only things keeping me going too! haha!
